Trust and safety

Report a file. Get an answer.

Every report becomes a ticket that a moderator reviews. You do not need a FileNext account, and you are told what we decided.

If a file shows a child being sexually abused or exploited

Report it right away with the child safety reason. Do not download, screenshot or share it, not even to send as evidence; the link is all we need. We remove the material and report it to the authorities. You can also report it directly to the NCMEC CyberTipline or, in India, the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal.

Two ways in, one queue.

Reports from the takedown bot and from share pages reach the same moderators with the same buttons.

The takedown bot

Best for copyright claims, several links at once, and following up later. It is a separate bot from the main FileNext bot.

  • Send one or more FileNext links. Files and folders both work.
  • Pick a reason and add details. Copyright claims are asked for the four extra items below.
  • Get a ticket number such as K7QX2MD, and a message when a moderator decides.

The report button

Every share page has one, and it needs no Telegram and no account.

  • Choose a reason and add details, with a link to the original work for copyright.
  • Leave an email if you want us to be able to reach you. It is optional.
  • Your ticket number is shown on screen as soon as you submit.

What to include, by reason.

A clear link and a few specific details let a moderator act on the first read.

Copyright
The link, plus the rights holder's name, the original work (a link or a clear description), an email address for replies, and a good-faith statement that the use is not authorised. The takedown bot asks for each of these.
Child safety
Only the link. Do not describe the material in detail and never attach copies. These reports are handled first.
Non-consensual sexual content
The link, and whether you are the person shown or reporting for them. You do not need to prove anything to make the report.
Violence
The link and what the file shows or threatens. If someone is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services first.
Privacy
The link and which personal information or images are yours, such as an address, ID document or private photo.
Spam or scam
The link and how it misleads people: fake downloads, phishing, malware or misleading file names.
Other
The link and a short explanation of the problem. A moderator reads every one.

What happens after you report.

Moderators get each report with three buttons. Whatever they choose, both sides hear about it.

From report to resolution

A copyright report becomes a ticket, a moderator removes the file, and everyone involved is told.

  • RemoveThe link stops working and the file stops earning. Every other open report about it is settled, and the uploader is told in the main bot.
  • Remove and banEverything above, and the uploader's account is banned. Used for serious or repeated violations.
  • DismissThe file does not break the rules and stays up. You are still told the outcome.
  • Flagged after 36 hoursAny report still open after 36 hours is flagged to the team, in line with the deadline India's IT Rules set for takedowns.

Check a ticket any time.

Send /status and your ticket number to the takedown bot. It replies with the reason, when you filed it and where it stands: under review, content removed, or reviewed with no violation found. Tickets from the report button work too, and the bot also has a Check a ticket button.

Questions that do not fit a ticket can go to support@filenext.in.
