The short version
This is a launch draft and is still being reviewed by lawyers. It describes how FileNext works today. The final version may change wording and add details required by law, and we will update the date above when it does.
- We keep what we need to run your drive, share your files, pay you and keep the service safe.
- Viewer IP addresses and device identifiers are turned into keyed hashes before we store them, and are used to validate views and stop fraud.
- Payout details are used only to pay you and to check payouts are legitimate.
- We do not sell personal information.
FileNext (“we”, “us”) runs the website at filenext.in, the FileNext Telegram bot and the FileNext takedown bot. The legal entity that operates FileNext and its registered address: to be stated before launch.
Information you give us
Web account
Your name, email address and password. We store the password only as a one-way hash, never in readable form.
Telegram account
When you message the FileNext bot, we create an account linked to your Telegram chat ID and keep the Telegram username and display name Telegram shares with bots. If you connect Telegram to a web account, the two are merged and the Telegram-only account is deleted.
Files
The files you upload and details about them: name, size, type, folder, covers, upload time and whether a share link is on. The bytes are kept in cloud object storage; the details are kept in our database.
Payout details
The method you choose and the details needed to pay you: a PayPal email address, a USDT wallet address on TRC20 or BEP20, or a UPI ID. For each withdrawal we keep the amount, status, dates, the reason if it was rejected and the payment reference or transaction hash once paid. Before some payouts we may ask for identity or tax information, and we will explain at that time what we need and why.
Reports and messages
When you report content we keep the links, the reason, your details and, if you give them, your email address or the Telegram chat you reported from so we can tell you the outcome. Copyright claims also include the rights holder’s name, the original work and your good-faith statement. When you email us, we keep the conversation.
Information created when you use FileNext
Views and downloads of shared files
When someone opens a shared file, we record which file was viewed or downloaded, when, and for how long the video played. To tell real viewers apart, we use the viewer’s IP address, a random device identifier stored in their browser, the browser’s user agent if there is no device identifier, and their account if they are signed in. IP addresses and device identifiers are stored as keyed hashes rather than in readable form.
We use these signals to decide whether a view is validated (for example, once per device or account and IP per file per day, and a daily cap per IP), to calculate earnings and to detect faked traffic. Uploaders see totals such as views, downloads and earnings, never who the viewers were.
Earnings records
Daily totals of validated views, downloads and earnings for each uploader, the hold period on each amount and your available balance.
Sign-in and technical data
A session cookie keeps you signed in on the web. Our servers and hosting providers keep technical logs, including IP addresses, for security and troubleshooting. We do not use advertising cookies today.
How we use it
- To run your account, store and preview your files, and serve your share links.
- To count validated views and downloads, calculate earnings, apply the hold period and pay withdrawals.
- To detect and stop fraud, faked traffic, abuse and security threats, including voiding invalid earnings and suspending accounts.
- To handle reports, notify uploaders and reporters of decisions, and meet legal obligations, including reporting child sexual abuse material to the authorities.
- To answer your messages and tell you about important changes to the service or these policies.
Where a law requires a legal basis, we rely on providing the service you asked for, our legitimate interest in keeping FileNext safe and fair, legal obligations, and your consent where we ask for it.
How long we keep it
We keep account information while your account is open. Files stay until you delete them from Trash or your account is closed. Earnings, withdrawal and payment records are kept for as long as tax and accounting rules require. Hashed view records are kept as long as we need them to validate earnings and investigate fraud. Reports and moderation decisions are kept so we can handle repeat violations and legal requests.
Deleted data can remain in backups for a limited period before it is overwritten. Turning off a share link stops access through FileNext but cannot recall copies others already downloaded.
Your choices and rights
- Turn share links on or off and delete files at any time from your drive.
- Change or remove your payout method in the Telegram bot.
- Disconnect Telegram from Settings on the web.
- Ask for a copy of your information, a correction, or the deletion of your account by sending a privacy request.
We may need to confirm that an account is yours before acting. Some records, such as payment records, may have to be kept even after an account is deleted. Depending on where you live, you may also be able to complain to a data protection authority.
Security
Files are private until you share them and are served through short-lived signed links. Passwords are hashed and traffic is encrypted in transit. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a unique password and keep your Telegram account protected. Report security issues through the contact page.
Children
FileNext is meant for people aged 18 and over. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.
Where data is processed
Our providers may store and process data in countries other than yours, including India and the United States. Where the law requires it, we use appropriate safeguards for these transfers.
Grievance officer and contact
Grievance Officer (India): To be appointed before launch. Their name, contact details and the hours they can be reached will be published here. Until then, send grievances to support@filenext.in with “Grievance” in the subject line.
We aim to acknowledge a grievance within 24 hours and resolve it within 15 days, and to act on requests to remove content within the time limits the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021 set, including 36 hours for takedowns.
For anything else about privacy, email support@filenext.in or use the contact page.
